How to be unapologetic you?

I have always tried to be very conscientious and well-behaved, and I want to ensure that I do things from a pure heart and a state where my ego would not be in control. But sometimes my humbleness has played against me and became more self-criticism than healthy self-awareness. So many times I have left things undone or criticized and punished myself unreasonably. This energy-draining, self-sabotage behaviour has not moved me forward in my development in the past. I have had to work hard to get out of this “nice girl syndrome” and learn how to be unapologetic who I am. And yes, sometimes there have been moments when I have had to be humbled by life, and that was also needed. This beautiful process of finding my true essence has become a constant practice of finding a healthy balance, how to be simultaneously badass and humble.

I think one secret to being successful and happy in life is to be able to calm down your mind and understand how to work with your emotions, be an observer of your thoughts and feelings. For me, the best way to find my balance and hear my inner voice is through breath work, movement, meditation, yoga, dance, sauna, somatic healing and speaking.

Because if we identify too much with our minds and emotions, and give too much power to it, many things might remain undone or we do things that we regret later. We might begin to lower ourselves, create fake roles or start fight against our feelings, which leads that we are not letting life and creativity flow through us.

If we want a chance in our lives, we need to learn to be comfortable in the unknown and even chaos.
